AI visibility for companies in Bremen

I’m Christian Schmitt, a freelancer with an office in Bremen’s Überseestadt district. I prepare the websites of Bremen companies so that ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can read them, understand them and use them as a source. Whether the answers then name your company, we check against a fixed set of test questions.

By video call or at my office in the Überseestadt.

What does AI visibility mean?

AI visibility means that when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google for a provider, the answer names your company and links to your website. Specialists call this GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) or AEO (Answer Engine Optimization). These systems rely on pages they are allowed to read and that answer a question directly.

What counts when someone asks for a provider in Bremen

In October 2026 I asked ChatGPT and Perplexity who helps Bremen companies show up in AI answers. ChatGPT named five agencies, Perplexity seven. Each of them had its own page with the service and Bremen in the title, and Perplexity also drew on comparison lists.

01

One page per service and location

The service and Bremen are in the title, and the first paragraph answers the question. A homepage that mentions a little of everything rarely gives that answer.

02

The same company details everywhere

Name, address and phone number match on your website, in your Google Business Profile, on Apple, on Bing and in business directories. That way the systems attribute every listing to the same company.

03

Mentions in third-party sources

Comparison lists, associations, partner sites and Bremen media. AI answers also rely on what others write about your company.

04

A setup that lets crawlers in

The search crawlers of ChatGPT and Perplexity are allowed to read your pages. Structured data describes your company, location and services in a form machines understand.

In the free 30-minute check, we’ll see which of these four is missing for you.

What I do for your company

How much of this you need depends on the state of your website. These six points are part of every project.

  • Local test questions

We define how your customers ask, for example “Which tax advisor in Bremen knows online retail?”. I note what ChatGPT and Perplexity answer today.

  • Access for AI crawlers

I check robots.txt and your Cloudflare settings so that OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot may read your pages. You can still opt out of OpenAI’s model training.

  • Matching company details

Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and the key directories get the same details as your website.

  • Structured data

Company, address, service area, services and frequently asked questions appear in machine-readable form on the right pages.

  • Pages with a direct answer

Every test question gets a page that answers at the top and backs it up below: services, process, projects, contact person.

  • Measuring again

After a few weeks I ask the test questions again. Google Analytics shows you how many visits come from ChatGPT and Perplexity.

Questions about AI visibility in Bremen

I do. I’m Christian Schmitt, a freelancer with an office in Bremen’s Überseestadt. I prepare the websites of companies in and around Bremen for ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews: access for AI crawlers, consistent company details, structured data and pages that answer customer questions directly. We meet at my office or by video call.

SEO targets Google’s list of results, GEO targets the answers of AI systems. Much of it overlaps, because both need readable pages with clear answers. GEO adds two things: the crawlers of ChatGPT and Perplexity need access, and other sources need to mention your company.

For local questions, yes. For such searches Google shows the profile in the map section, often above all other results. It is also one more source where name, address and phone number must match your website. I set it up with you or bring an existing profile in line with your website.

No. Most projects run online, for companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I’m also happy to meet Bremen companies at my office in the Überseestadt.

No. The system decides for itself which sources an answer uses, and anyone who promises a mention can’t keep that promise. I make sure your website is readable, answers your customers’ questions and shows the same details everywhere. The test questions show what changes as a result.
